Watch out for 'The Law'

So I've been trolling around MySpace checking out what there is to check out, but mainly diggin the music.

On my radar (from a post on this blog) is Jersey's Cymarshall Law. I like his style. It reminds me of someone, but I can't put my finger on who ... "Rush to the Front" is lyrically relentless; and it has a bouncy beat.

The tracks on MySpace flowed nicely. Meaning, I could listen to this in the car, in the club ... even chillin. Again, the beats were nice; not innovative, but they work and since Law dominates so aggresively, he doesn't need beats that might overwhelm his skills.

Check him out hip hoppers ... stay true, kfox

Get Fly ...

My boy Mick Boogie put me on to these buckeye boys - Fly Union. The first track on the MySpace music player is contagious. I love their slow beats (and most folks will tell you that I don't like slow beats). "Dumb Down" is a head-nodder; it's catchy. Their lyrics are cool too; they match the rhythm of the song (i know you are saying "don't lyrics always match the rhythm of the song? And the answer is 'no') w/a nice hook. They have a slow drone in their delivery.; very cool.

And now, you gotta check them out ... right? You gotta do that hip hoppers.

Where's the Indy/Indie?

For real ... the indy/indie is there ... I just need to throw it up on this here site.

But for now, you'll have to be content w/a good look @ Kevin Michael. I know, I know ... it's more on the mainstream tip and even more R&B. Is it good music? Oh, yeah and does it have a hip hop vibe? True dat. Michael has enlisted the reps of Wyclef and Q-Tip and frankly, Michael brings some authenticity to the game.

So peep it out ... I think you will forgive me for strayin so far from the indy/indie roots.

Hangin in there hip hoppers ... kfox
