Metabeats Halloween Mix
It's been way too quiet over here ... more on that later.
But check this Metabeats Halloween Mix. It's missing my fav: "My Mind's Playing Tricks on Me" by the Geto Boys, but it's a nice, FREE mix.

Lupe Fiasco's "Superstar", "The Cool" and David Letterman
It's true that I have sort of lost my musical focus, hence, my infrequent posting on this here blog. However, I did receive Lupe Fiasco's "The Cool" as a Christmas gift (somebody got it right).
I've listened to and I like it, but I'm at a loss for giving any more details - again a lack of focus. Oh, but I did see Lupe perforn on David Letterman last week (on Letterman's first show since he returned from the strike). The performance was okay - Matthew Santos was with him and they did "Superstar". I really like the music on "Superstar" because it is so unlike hip hop - no blaring beats and crazy bass.
Here's the clip from Letterman:

Watch out for 'The Law'
So I've been trolling around MySpace checking out what there is to check out, but mainly diggin the music.
On my radar (from a post on this blog) is Jersey's Cymarshall Law. I like his style. It reminds me of someone, but I can't put my finger on who ... "Rush to the Front" is lyrically relentless; and it has a bouncy beat.
The tracks on MySpace flowed nicely. Meaning, I could listen to this in the car, in the club ... even chillin. Again, the beats were nice; not innovative, but they work and since Law dominates so aggresively, he doesn't need beats that might overwhelm his skills.
Check him out hip hoppers ... stay true, kfox
