Spotlighting Black Milk - Yes, Again!

So when a good thing is good, I just can't get enough.

I tried to put you on to Black Milk a few weeks ago, but I'm not certain that the message came through loud and clear.

So here are a few more convincing options:
It's just nice to hear him do his thing w/out the assistance of ten other emcees. Nice loop on the beats too. Nothing fancy, so the focus is on the lyrics and his delivery. Me thinks you will like it. Especially the funky beats at the end of the track.

So go for it hip hoppers ... add some milk to your rotation. kfox.

A Holiday Treat from P.O.S.

P.O.S. is sayin hello by sayin "Goodbye". It's a track from his upcoming release dropping in February. In case you did not know, he's on the Rhymesayers roster and that means good, quality hip hop.

Right now - the holiday season - P.O.S. befriends us by providing a FREE download of "Goodbye":
And it gets better ... P.O.S. is going on tour in '09 w/the "Never Better" Tour. The dates are covering a lot of ground - East coast, West coast and the midwest (seems the South won't get a piece of this, at least not this time around).

I am still amped up on P.O.S.'s "Audition" from a few years ago. So if you need to do an about-face, then do that and come back to this or just do it all. Because it is all good.

So go ahead and catch that download or just take a listen. Happy holidays hip hoppers. kfox.

I Do It For Hip Hop :: Luda Jay-Z Nas

I can not take credit for finding this one. It came to my inbox via Mick Boogie's Press Play Fashion Forward website/blog. But I am diggin it - Ludacris, Jay-Z and Nas "I Do It For Hip Hop". Not bad at all.

What caught my attention was the image that accompanied the post. As I was scrolling through, it was one of those "hey, what was that?" The bruthas are lookin fabulous and fly. But nice to know that the track is not all commercial sounding and what not. I expect the lyrics to be strong, but the beats are quite complimentary; a little jazzy and laid back. Very nice.

So check out the track: "I Do It For Hip Hop"

What are you doing for hip hop hip hoppers ... ? kfox.

I'm not the only one "Strugglin" ...

A few weeks ago, I received an email promising to connect me to some indie hip hop artists w/some quality product. So I jumped on board because I'm not one to turn down too many freebies.

Well, the emails have been coming, but I have been buried under other obligations. Finally, though, I took a minute to open up an email because I needed to post on this here blog. Yeah, the pressure was on to post about something other than The Roots.

I've heard of K'naan, but I'm not so sure I've heard his music. "Strugglin" is right up my alley - laid back, great hook, smooth delivery, mellow beats. All that and more.

You can peep the mp3 and check it for yourself ... be cool hip hoppers, kfox.
